Today the 3-7 Oakland Raiders are in Cincinnati to take on the 5-5 Bengals, who have won two straight. The Raiders have once again fallen out of contention for a playoff spot and will attempt to take on the spoiler role for the remainder of the season, baring a miracle that would give them a wildcard spot. Today is the perfect opportunity to spoil one teams dreams of making the playoffs for a second season in a row. The Bengals started 3-5, but after defeating the Giants and Chiefs, they are now 5-5 and only one game out of the wildcard spot.
The Raiders will be without Darren McFadden today, but he has been a major disappointment this season with only 455 yards on 139 carries. Taking over for McFadden will be the fifth year pro out of Washington, Marcel Reece. Reece has been outplaying McFadden so far this season, but only on a small sample of 33 carries which netted him 151 yards. However he has also been a major threat receiving the ball this year, hailing in 37 receptions for 418 yards.
The key to an Oakland Raiders victory will be to stop Andy Dalton and AJ Green. The Bengals don’t have a dominant offense or defense, but in their past two weeks they looked dominant against the Giants and Chiefs, so the Raiders will need to deny Andy Dalton the time in the pocket that he has had the past two weeks, and force him to make quick decisions.
