Raiders Cut 17 players and reassess options

The Oakland Raiders have cut seventeen (17) players in order to meet the mandated NFL 53 man roster limit. Some of the players cut are Chad Kilgore (LB), Nathan Stupar (LB), Kaelin Burnett (LB), Eddie McGee (WR), Travionte Session (WR), Brandon Carswell (WR), and Derek Carrier (WR). The Raiders will retain seven corner backs more likely due to a poor special teams performance this preseason. Also, it looks like with Line Backer Aaron Curry on the PUP list due to injuries to both his knees, line backer Miles Burris of san Diego State may be in for the starting line-up. Curry may be eligible to return to practice as early as October 16 and will be permitted to practice up to twenty –one days before becoming active on the Raiders’ roster.
Raiders’ Coach Dennis Allen and General Manager Reggie McKenzie are still evaluating their options in giving the team a boost and more changes are expected to come to the Raider’s camp as the management assess the new pool of released players.
