Saturday’s preseason game between the Oakland Raiders and the Detroit Lions was definitely not “just” a preseason game for the Oakland Raiders defense, who went all out against the Lions injuring Lions QB Matt Stafford’s throwing hand, and sidelining other Lion’s players. Although the injuries to these players did not appear to major, they are not expected to play in the last preseason game against the Bills on Thursday, but they will most likely be back in action when the season starts.
Not to be outdone by the defense, the Raiders offense put up a good display with 3rd string QB Terrelle Pryor taking full advantage of his play time. Pryor threw for 227 yards, and two touchdown passes, but despite his good performance, he is still not considered a threat to Carson Palmer’s position as the starting QB for the Raiders, but he can still fight for the No. 2 spot.
